## Computer Vision & OCR Architecture

Training Depot uses Gemini Multimodal Vision for automated food logging:

1. **Nutrition Facts Label OCR**:
   - Extracts Serving Size, Total Calories, Protein (g), Total Carbohydrates (g), Dietary Fiber (g), Total Fat (g), Saturated Fat (g), and Sodium (mg).
   - Validates caloric balance using the 4-4-9 macro formula:
     `Estimated Calories = (Protein × 4) + (Carbs × 4) + (Fat × 9)`

2. **Visual Meal Photo Estimation**:
   - Classifies food items, recognizes portion volume, and computes estimated macronutrient ranges.

3. **Metabolic Calculation Engine**:
   - Calculates Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation:
     - Male: `10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) - 5 × age(y) + 5`
     - Female: `10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) - 5 × age(y) - 161`
   - Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) multipliers from Sedentary (1.2) to Very Active (1.725).
   - Automated surplus/deficit targets for weight loss (-500 kcal/day), maintenance (0), or lean bulking (+300 kcal/day).

4. **Algorithmic Workout Generator**:
   - Generates customized routines across Push/Pull/Legs, Upper/Lower, and Full Body splits.
   - Tailors exercise selection to available equipment: Bodyweight, Dumbbells Only, Resistance Bands, or Full Commercial Gym.
